Adamawa State governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has called for religious tolerance and orderliness during and after the Ramadan fasting.
In a message by his press secretary, Humwashi Wunosikou, Fintiri urged the Ummah to reflect the fear of Allah in all their dealings and prayed that Allah would use the commencement of the Ramadan period to stop the violence and untoward events being witnessed in some parts of the country.
He added that Ramadan is the period of abstinence that calls for behavioural change.
Governor Fintiri also expressed appreciation to Almighty Allah who has counted all those alive worthy to participate in another Ramadan fasting period, while praying for a successful Ramadan period.
“Ramadan has multiple benefits such as education and elimination of lack of knowledge, and each time people listen to sermons and messages during Ramadan, their horizon is widened and could be used to solve many of society’s problems,” he noted.
While urging the Ummah to offer Zakat during Ramadan, he said it provides an opportunity to eliminate lack.
