Babcock’s drive towards entrepreneurship and growth has will soon taken leap with the planned partnership between Haven Tower Group and Babcock Business School to establish a vocational centre in Lagos.
The centre would be funded with an initial take-off sum of N200 million by Haven Tower Group and would provide hands-on training in technical courses, brickmaking, tailoring, and related fields for High School graduates.
Under the partnership, the Haven Tower Group would also provide training facilities and serve as an annexe to Babcock Business School.
“This partnership is my way of giving back to the institution, said Dr Akinyele Oladeji, BBS Alumnus and Haven Tower Group Managing Director. Dr Oladeji is among the first set of PhD graduates of the Babcock Business School.
This came up as President/Vice Chancellor, Professor Afolarin Olutunde Ojewole, met Dr Oladeji in his Lagos office.
In attendance were the Head of BBS, Professor Rufus Akintoye; the Group Managing Director of Harvard Associates, Professor Abiodun Osiyemi; and the Managing Partner of O.M. Associates, Mr Olufemi Oguntade.
Responding, Professor Ojewole described the planned partnership as commendable and worthy of emulation.
“When we see an alumnus representing the core values of the university, we don’t have anything more to say but to appreciate him,” he added.
He said the future lies in “touching lives through excellence and helping Nigeria”.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the partnership details is expected to be signed soon.
