Energia Limited said it is expanding operations in crude production, gas processing and downstream infrastructure, as the push for greater local participation in the country’s energy sector gathers pace.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the chairman, George Osahon said the company’s growth reflects the contributions of founders, employees, host communities and partners.

The managing director/chief executive officer, Oladimeji Bashorun, said the focus going forward will be on operational excellence, responsible energy development, innovation and stronger partnerships.

“From our beginnings as a wholly indigenous exploration and production company, we have continued to build our capabilities, strengthen our operations and create value for our stakeholders,” Bashorun said.

He added that “our next chapter will be defined by disciplined execution and strategic growth.”

Energia said, it has also invested in community development initiatives in education, healthcare, infrastructure, youth development and agriculture in its areas of operation.

With Nigeria seeking to boost indigenous capacity and gas utilisation, the company said it will prioritise gas monetisation, asset portfolio development and operational upgrades as it targets a more productive role in the country’s energy future.

Founded in 2001 by Nigerian oil and gas professionals, many of whom were members of the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN), the company was established to demonstrate the technical and operational capacity of indigenous firms in a sector long dominated by international operators.
