A business outfit, ROXETTES Group, has announced the cancellation of its planned relocation of its corporate headquarters from the Southeast region to Lagos, the country’s business capital.

The group’s facilities include ROXETTES Motors, an assembly plant based in Obuaku City, Abia State, as well as Roxettes Chemical Industries Ltd and RoxyCarb, both located in Enugu, Enugu State.

The chairman of the group, Kaycee Kelechi, disclosed this in a statement issued at the weekend in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.

“Our attention has been drawn to media reports suggesting that we have concluded plans to relocate our industrial operations from the Southeast to Lagos.

“While we are reviewing our nationwide business structure as part of a long-term expansion strategy, no decision has been made to relocate production from the zone,” the group stated.

It explained that the discussions were focused on how to use the headquarters to strengthen national integration and improve access to ports, investors, and export facilities.

“This aspect of the discussion appears to have been taken out of context, as our facilities remain fully operational and continue to employ hundreds of Nigerians,” the statement added.

The group lauded Abia State governor, Alex Otti, for “his outstanding leadership in improving security, infrastructure, and the ease of doing business, which drew the group to the state.”

“Our commitment to the state and the zone remains firm. This review simply ensures that our operations nationwide are better aligned with evolving infrastructure and future growth.

“We reaffirm our dedication to job creation, local manufacturing, and sustainable mobility as we continue to drive the country’s green industrialisation,” it stated.
