The Chief Executive Officer of DMCA Energy Nigeria Limited, Mr. Christopher Amabi, has described the introduction of the Principle of Converted Regenerative Device (PCRD) technology as a transformative solution capable of reshaping Nigeria’s energy landscape.
Amabi, who is also the inventor of the PCRD technology, said innovation remains a critical game-changer in the country’s quest for reliable and sustainable electricity.
According to him, the solution is designed to deliver uninterrupted power supply, stimulate economic growth, and significantly reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
He spoke during a media briefing jointly organised by the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA), and DMCA Energy in Lagos, over the weekend.
Amabi explained that the rollout aligns with the company’s long-term strategy to provide affordable, clean, and sustainable electricity to industries, commercial enterprises, government institutions, and residential clusters nationwide particularly in underserved and off-grid communities.
According to him, the PCRD machine operates using hydraulic liquid in a closed-loop system that generates force without combustion, fuel consumption, or harmful emissions.
He said, the design enables continuous energy production while eliminating noise, pollution, and fuel dependency associated with conventional generators, saying that “the PCRD machine is built around conversion and regeneration. It is powered by hydraulic liquid, which does not combust, but generates force that is harnessed to produce electricity. The liquid recycles itself, creating a self-loop system that sustains power generation without exhaustion.”
Amabi added that the innovation can generate electricity ranging from 50 kilowatts to 10,000 megawatts, making it suitable for small businesses, manufacturing plants, estates, hospitals, data centres, universities, and state power projects.
He stated that the PCRD technology has undergone extensive technical evaluation and validation, adding that the machine has been in Nigeria since 2024 and has been tested and certified by the Faculty of Engineering, University of Lagos, Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) and the Lagos State government has examined the technology and recommended independent assessments before its national rollout.
The national president of NACCIMA, Dr. Jani Ibrahim, described the technology as potentially transformative if independently verified and deployed at scale.
“Anyone who can solve Nigeria’s electricity problem has liberated the nation economically. However, to ensure public trust, we encourage DMCA to subject this innovation to NACCIMA’s proof-of-concept platform so that the private sector can confidently embrace it,” Ibrahim said.
He added that reliable power remains one of the most critical enablers of industrial growth, competitiveness, and investment attraction in Nigeria, most especially in the drive towards President Ahmed Tinubu’s attainment of N1 trillion economy by 2030.
Beyond the immediate rollout, DMCA Energy outlined a comprehensive plan to support Nigeria’s energy transition through partnerships with federal and state governments, industrial clusters, and financial institutions.
The company aims to establish decentralised power hubs across key economic zones, industrial parks, and rural communities, reducing reliance on the national grid while accelerating economic productivity, job creation, and environmental sustainability.
