First Lady Condoles Makinde, Oyo Citizens Over Stampede Tragedy

The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Remi Tinubu, has expressed deep condolences to Governor Seyi Makinde and the people of Oyo State following the tragic loss of young lives in a stampede that occurred on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Senator Tinubu described the incident as devastating, extending her sympathies to the families, friends, and loved ones of the deceased.

“I condole with the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, and the people of Oyo State on the tragedy that claimed the lives of many children,” she said.

The First Lady also offered prayers for the speedy recovery of those injured and currently receiving hospital treatment.

“May the Lord grant peace to Oyo State, comfort to the families who have lost their loved ones, and hope to those grieving at this time,” Senator Tinubu added.

She concluded her message by offering her heartfelt condolences to all those affected and urging the community to remain united and strong during this challenging period.
