Official functions of the Akwa Ibom State government have been temporarily suspended following the sudden demise of the first lady, Mrs Patience Umo Eno.

Further to that, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prince Enobong Uwah, in a statement, said flags at major government buildings have been lowered at half mast “as a sign of collective mourning,” amidst tributes and condolence messages to the first family in their moment of grief.

Consequently, the ongoing distribution of palliatives across the 31 local government areas of the state have been suspended.
