Flight operations at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport have resumed following a temporary suspension caused by the crash of Air India Flight AI171 earlier on Thursday.
The Airport Authority of India confirmed in a statement via X (formerly Twitter) that scheduled flight movements recommenced at 4:05pm local time.

The Authority advised passengers to check directly with their airlines for the latest flight status and to monitor official airline websites for further information.
“Attention Flyers; Scheduled #FlightOperations from the #AhmedabadAirport @ahmairport have resumed since 1605 Hrs.
“It is recommended that travellers check flight status directly with the airline and monitor the airline’s websites for further updates.”
The resumption of operations commenced hours after the tragic crash of a London-bound Air India Boeing 787, which went down shortly after takeoff, prompting emergency protocols and the grounding of operations at the airport.
Emergency and rescue efforts remained ongoing at the crash site near Meghani Nagar, just outside the airport perimeter.
Authorities have yet to confirm the number of casualties but disclosed that there were 242 people on board.
Among those on board were 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, 7 Portuguese nationals, and one Canadian.
