In a statement, the appointment letter was presented to him recently by the former Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr Tunji Alausa, following approval from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to the statement, “Dr Agbonile’s reappointment took effect from 2nd October 2024, marking the continuation of his leadership at the hospital. Under his previous tenure, Dr Agbonile championed numerous initiatives to enhance the hospital’s infrastructure, patient care standards, and staff welfare, which earned him accolades from within the hospital community and beyond.

“This reappointment is expected to drive further advancements and reinforce the hospital’s position as a leading mental and general health care institution. Dr Agbonile has expressed gratitude to His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the renewed mandate. He promised to continue expanding and modernising the hospital’s services to meet global standards.”
