Derived from the Hebrew word “Sham,” which means “There,” Fola Amoo’s single “Jehovah Shamama ,” finds the Nigeria based gospel singer deploying more than two different languages to worship God.

The new single comes less than a year after the release of “Bayethe Nkosi,” which had input from Tkeyz, a renowned music producer.

On this new song, an image of a spirit filled Fola Amoo is splashed on the song art cover, while the microphone is impeccably placed in her front, she is far gone, into the spirit world.

This must have further uplifted the state of spirituality in this song. It shows the level of depth she went into to craft this song.

On “Jehovah Shamama,” Fola Amoo worships and declares the wonders of God as she also acknowledges him as the one behind the happenings in our lives.

Gospel singers always make use of choristers in their songs. Not everyone has been able to hack this technique, fortunately for Fola Amoo, she has been able to work her way around this.

On this song, she allows the choristers to take the song to another level. The mixing and mastering of the song also makes their vocals audible. Their commendable effort comes to life.

At close to seventeen minutes long, the singer takes the listeners through different languages.

The back up singers were on hand to amplify her delectable effort. This song is a gorgeous mix of South African Zulu language, Yoruba and English.

The different language used in this song didn’t diminish its impact on the listeners, instead, it further put them in spirit as Fola Amoo expertly used a mid tempo production to aid her articulation. The drums are not necessarily heavy, it’s light, the strings are bright, likewise the cadence of the song are poignantly kept in tandem with the song flow.

For someone who had kept the fans waiting for months, it’s exhilarating finally listening to the end result of the creative break.

With this song, Fola Amoo shows the world that she has more to offer the gospel industry in Nigeria and perhaps in the world. If anyone is still in doubt about this assertion, I suggest a spin on this song.
