The intervention, led by the foundation’s Founder and CEO, Queen Mother High Chief Dr. Chetachi Ecton Nwoga, provided baby formula, de-worming treatment, malaria screening and treatment, as well as raw food supplies for mothers.

Speaking during the outreach, Dr. Nwoga explained that the initiative was in memory of her late mother, who passed away in March this year.

“I decided to celebrate my mom, celebrate her legacy and the woman that she was. In doing so, I also wanted to reach out to the orphans, widows, widowers, and especially vulnerable children in Nigeria who lack the basic necessities of life.

“I’ve devoted my salaries, my earnings to what I do and it’s not going to stop here. I am going to do this for the rest of my life. Not only because of my mother but because of her generation which includes my own children, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren and her generation yet to be born.

“I will take this mission beyond Kaduna to Imo State and other parts of Nigeria,” she said.

The special guest of honour, Dr. Gideon Jock (Hasken Jaba), described the gesture as exemplary, noting that it was rare to see individuals selflessly commit their personal resources to community development.

“This is truly a wonderful programme worthy of emulation. Here we have someone who has chosen to use her own wealth to provide food and medical support. This is a lesson to every son and daughter of Southern Kaduna and beyond, to rise up and give back to their communities,” he said.

On his part, HRM Eze Uchenna Chinelo, Ezeoha II of Ntueke Ancient Kingdom, Ideato South, Imo State, commended Dr. Nwoga for sustaining the culture of generosity instilled in her by her late mother.

“Wherever her mother is today, she will be proud to see her daughter sharing what she taught her with others. This is not the first time she is doing this, and it will not be the last. We pray for God’s guidance upon her because this is a huge responsibility,” he said

Beneficiaries of the outreach expressed gratitude to the foundation, saying the intervention had come at a critical time when many families were grappling with economic hardship.
