Hussein Kashim Foundation has released another tranche of payment towards the settlement of the over N7 million scholarship scheme for students of Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa.

The chairman of the foundation, Alhaji Idris Hussein Kashim, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday.

He said the latest payment of N1,000,000 was transferred on 22 April 2026, to the college’s consultancy account, KSCOE Ankpa Consultancy Services Ltd, via interbank transfer.

“The payment was successfully processed as part of our ongoing financial obligations under the scholarship scheme,” he said.

The initiative, according to him, is designed to sponsor 50 students from admission through to graduation in their Nigeria Certificate in Education programme.

Kashim explained that the scheme covers tuition and accommodation and targets students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds across various local government areas of Kogi State.

Findings from the institution’s bursary department indicate that each beneficiary requires N51,500 annually for fees and accommodation.

The three-year programme is valued at over N7 million.

The college had earlier commended the intervention in a letter dated 3 November 2025, signed by the Provost, Dr Fashagba Paul Femi.

The provost described the initiative as a major boost to the beneficiaries’ academic pursuits.

“The scholarship is not just financial support but also a source of motivation for the students to remain focused,” he said.

He added that the intervention had reduced the students’ burden, allowing them to concentrate on their studies.

Femi further noted that investing in education would enable the beneficiaries to contribute meaningfully to society.

The management also assured the donor that the students would justify the gesture through academic excellence and responsible conduct.

The beneficiaries cut across departments, including Business Education, Agricultural Education, Home Economics, Political Science, Economics, Biology, Technical Education, Arabic and Social Studies.

They are drawn from local government areas such as Ankpa, Dekina, Omala, Ofu, Idah, Igalamela-Odolu, Olamaboro, Bassa and Ibaji.
