A non-governmental organisation, Nynnah Foundation in collaboration with Webmark Foundation and Destiny Mandate has awarded scholarships to 30 outstanding students in the secondary school sections of Kabusa Government School in recognition of their hard work and dedication to learning and also donated educational materials to ease their learning.
The president of the Nynnah Foundation, Ninnah Samuel, said that every child deserves the right to basic education irrespective of their social background, adding that education remains a viable tool through which the future can be shaped.
However, she acknowledged the country’s challenging economic situation and emphasised the need to support each other. Hence, the foundations distributed essential educational materials to the children.
According to her, the foundations distributed 500 pens, 100 pencils, 100 mathematical sets, and 100 packs of exercise books, which were handed out to the brightest, punctual, and neatest students.
Also, the chairman of Webmark Foundation, Dr Tunmise Adepoju, said that in addition to the gesture, 30 junior secondary students whose parents struggled to make ends meet received support as their WAEC examination fees were covered, along with provision for school uniforms and allowing these students to focus on their studies without financial worries.
Madam Useful Nkuma Abosi of Destiny Mandate advocated deliberate and collective commitment to harnessing the transformative potential of education for young people and called on other corporate organisations, NGOs, and individuals to support children’s education.
