The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation in conjunction with  Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford,  has announced new applications for the 2025 AIG Public Leaders Programme (AIG PLP), a fully funded public sector leadership development initiative.

“This program designed for senior public sector professionals across Africa, the programme equips participants with advanced skills to drive transformative governance and address systemic challenges. The AIG PLP combines rigorous academic study, interactive workshops, and peer-to-peer learning to improve mastery of competencies critical for effective public leadership.”

Director of programmes  Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation Chioma Njoku, stated that we empower public sector leaders with cutting-edge tools and frameworks to tackle Africa’s most pressing governance challenges.

Njoku, further noted that from reducing bureaucratic bottlenecks to advancing digital transformation, our alumni return to their roles equipped to lead with integrity, innovation, and measurable impact.”The AIG PLP is open to public sector professionals who meet the following requirements: Be a citizen of any African country, actively working in the African public sector.

Njoku, highlighted that the programme is the reform project, where participants design and implement impactful reforms within their Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). Many alumni have led transformative initiatives, earning recognition and advancing their careers.

Some project success stories include the development of a standardised on-the-job training manual for Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel at the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), and the automation of the dossier review process which lead to the resolution of a long-standing challenge in managing complex scientific documents that had previously slowed down regulatory decisions and frustrated applicants at the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).

Additionally, patient waiting times at Isheri Olofin Primary Healthcare Centre in Lagos have been slashed from 82 minutes to just 31 minutes, surpassing a target reduction of over 50 per cent.

“The AIG PLP is more than a training programme—it’s a catalyst for systemic change,” Have a minimum of seven years of work experience. Be at Grade Level 12 or above and age between 35 and 50 years old.The application process is simple and entirely online.
