Foundation Sponsors Teachers To Finland

Nigerian Breweries Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund has fulfilled its promise by sponsoring five past winners of the Maltina Teacher of the Year Competition to Tampere, Finland, for capacity development training.

The foundation stated that previous competition winners like Olasunkanmi Opeifa, Olubunmi Anani, Abanika Taiye, Alaku Ayiwulu, and Adeola Adefemi were the recipients of capacity development training as part of the competition prize. Teachers underwent various practical-based teaching skills modules as part of the training.

Chairman of Nigerian Breweries Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund, Mr. Hans Essaadi, explained that the purpose of the training was to expose teachers to modern teaching methods that can have a positive impact on society.

The previous competition winners expressed their deep appreciation to the management of Nigerian Breweries-Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund, describing the experience as eye-opening and stating that it enhanced their teaching and leadership skills.

Adeola Adefemi, the 2023 competition winner, emphasized that the training had been comprehensive and fulfilling, pledging to use her experience to transform education in Nigeria. Alaku Ayiwulu, the Maltina Teacher of the Year 2022, also praised the capacity-building training, stating that it transformed his approach to learning and highlighted the importance of student-centered collaboration.
