FRCN Coop Society Elects SWAN Chairman, Chidoka, As President

The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Headquarters, Cooperative Society has elected new executive members to run the organisation for the next two year- term.

After a keenly contested poll, Mr. Ndubueze Chidoka, manager sports and chairman of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), FCT chapter, was elected president. 

Chidoka pulled 244 votes to beat his rival, Mr. Mustapha Ahmed, who scored 209 votes as announced by the chairman of the electoral committee, Alhaji Abba Zayyan.

Also elected is the general secretary of the society, Mr. Bontus Joseph, who polled 243 votes to beat Conrad Labeh with 151 votes.

Mr. Michael Olofu was also elected as Financial Secretary with a total score of 172 votes to defeat his closest rival Abdullahi Obenege who scored124 votes.

Other members of the new executive are; Faith Dangana (vice president), Lilian Adaeze (PRO),  Ibrahim Adamu (treasurer) and Shaibu John (assistant general secretary).

The outgoing president, Mr. Victorson Agbenson, urged the new executive to consolidate on his achievements and brace up to the challenges ahead.

The newly elected president for the Society, Mr. Ndubueze Chidoka, expressed appreciation to the cooperators for the confidence reposed in him. “I want to sincerely thank you cooperators for believing in me. Am not unaware of the role you played towards the success of the election.

“This victory is not mine but for you and others who stood firmly with me. I can’t afford to let you down. It’s a victory for all of us. I call on all of you, winners and losers to join me and this brand new exco to rebuild and rebrand FRCN COTHRIFT to be the cynosure of all eyes not only in FCT but in Nigeria at large.

FRCN Cooperative Society has over 700 members and a well known Cooperative society in the FCT.
