Chisom Obinna Onyeke, who is popularly called JaySynths, started from a lowly and humble beginning. His rise to stardom in the music industry is worthy of note.
JaySynths, who married former beauty queen, Christy Daniels, is bold enough to trace his background in music to his days in the church as a drummer for God. He did this and God later ordained for him a beautiful career in music.
“I’m a keyboardist and a bassist, but started my music career as a drummer. I started my music production career in 2015 before moving to Lagos from Abuja where I spent most of my life as a music director and a church keyboardist in the church,” JaySynths said during an interview recently.
JaySynths has been blessed in the industry, as he is taking his music career to the next level. Since 2015, he had the opportunity of working with most of the industry greats such as Teni, Skiibii, Mr Eazi, Ice Prince, Mr P, Victor AD, Kuami Eugene, KiDi, and a host of others.
“Aside from Case by Teni, I also made Daz How Star do by Skiibii, Power Rangers by Teni, Ozana by Hotkid and others,” said JaySynths
The graduate of Political Science from the University of Abuja..had some great musical productions to his credit which include Wait by Teni, Case by Teni, Power Rangers by Teni, Daz how star do, In a Fix By Ice Prince X mr eazi, Doh by Victor AD, Obiaato by Kuami Eugene.
Though the beginning was not all that rosy, JaySynths was able to weather the storm with hard work, commitment and focus for him to rise to the top and rub his shoulder with the mighties in the industry.
““I had to learn the techniques on how to achieve a good sound and it worked for me as soon as I got the techniques right.
“The biggest challenge, however, is being unique and being relevant, else you will be forgotten. I have learnt the important lesson of life that it is always important to be you and never seek validation when you know your worth,”said JaySynths.
The Nigerian entertainment industry, and more importantly, the music sector is full of opportunities.
JaySynths said he won’t let the good things in the sector pass him by, as he is ready to improve on himself in order to harness these opportunities.
He said: “Every day, I try to create something iconic. That improves and sharpens me enough for the good things coming in the industry”
While not trying to be another person in order to impress people, JaySynths said his life philosophy remains: “Be the reason someone else smiles.”
