From Eight To 300: Omordion Reveals Secret Behind Subscriber Growth

Chief Research officer of InvestData Consulting Limited, Ambrose Omordion, has revealed how his passion for investment education helped grow his company’s subscriber base from just eight people in 2012 to more than 300 active subscribers today.

Omordion said the growth was driven by a commitment to simplifying stock market knowledge and making investment education accessible to ordinary Nigerians.

Speaking on his journey in the financial market, he explained that many Nigerians shy away from equity investment because they see the capital market as an exclusive space reserved for financial experts and wealthy individuals.

According to him, the lack of adequate financial literacy inspired him to establish an investment-focused research and education platform aimed at bridging the information gap in the market.

“We discovered that many people are interested in investing but lack the right knowledge. The capital market appears too technical for the average person, so our mission became simplifying investment education and making it accessible to everyone,” he said.

Omordion noted that his experience as a certified financial manager in the United Kingdom, alongside collaborations with market technicians in South Africa, gave him deeper insight into the importance of investor education.

He recalled starting his career with StocksWatch, where he initially worked in marketing and magazine distribution before moving into market research and media engagements.

The investment expert stated that the company’s steady growth reflects increasing public interest in wealth creation and portfolio diversification.

He added that the firm now organises live masterclasses attended by participants from within and outside Nigeria, where investors are trained on equity investment, portfolio management, and other financial opportunities beyond the stock market.

“Our live sessions are designed to show people that equity investment is not meant only for professionals with advanced financial qualifications. Anyone willing to learn can become a successful investor,” he stated.

Omordion further advised aspiring entrepreneurs and investors to focus on long-term growth, value creation, and building sustainable systems rather than seeking quick financial gains.

According to him, passion, planning, and consistency remain critical ingredients for success in business and investment.
