Fubara’s Kinsmen Excited Over Establishment Of Tertiary Institution In Opobo

The people of Opobo Town in Opobo/Nkoro local government area of Rivers State, have expressed excitement over the commitment of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, to establish a tertiary institution in the community.

Recall that Fubara had during the commissioning of 7-kilometre Opobo Town Ring Road project as well as the redesigning and inauguration of the 3.05km Kalaibiama section of the Kalaibiama-Epellema Road in Opobo /Nkoro LGA of the state expressed the commitment.

Speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt, vice chairman of Opobo Council of Alapu, Alabo Edwin Cockeye-Brown, expressed profound gratitude to the state government for its commitment to developing the state.

Cockeye-Brown, who is also the chairman of Opobo Elder Statesmen-4-Sim, a political pressure group,  highlighted the projects’ potential to transform the local landscape, improve transportation, and foster economic growth.

He declared that the stage was now set for enhanced connectivity and boosting of the local economy in Opobo town.

The traditional ruler said: “We believe that education is the bedrock of progress and this initiative represents a monumental leap forward for our community,” he remarked.

“This is a game changer for our community. With better facilities and infrastructure, we can prepare our students for future challenges and opportunities.

“Establishing a higher education institution will not only enhance academic opportunities for our youth but also serve as a catalyst for sustainable economic growth in our community.”

On the commissioning of the Opobo Ring Road, Cockeye-Brown said the project would not only ease people’s movement but also attract investments and create job opportunities for the youth of Opobo Kingdom.
