FUT Minna Gets New DVC, 14 Professors

The Appointments and Promotions Committee of the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna has confirmed the appointment of Prof Abdullahi Mohammed as new deputy vice chancellor (Academics).

This was contained in a statement issued by the university‘s spokeswoman, Lydia Legbo, after the confirmation from the committee.

She said the confirmation was made at the committee‘s 87th meeting held at the Senate Chamber, Main Campus of the university at Gidan Kwano, Minna.

She said it was sequel to the selection process of the University‘s Senate that was selected during its 480th (regular) meeting.

The statement said the new DVC started as assistant lecturer with the university and he is a professor of civil engineering.

He was until his new appointment, the director, Academic Planning and corporate member of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and has over 50 national and international journal publications.

The committee also approved the promotion of 14 new professors and 19 associate professors.
