Dursun Özbek, the president of Galatasaray, has placed Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen as his second most admired striker in the club’s history, only behind the legendary Metin Oktay.

Özbek highlighted the significant impact Osimhen has had on the club, particularly in their successful campaign to secure the Turkish Super Lig title last season following his transfer from Napoli.

“After Metin Oktay, Victor Osimhen is the striker that excites me most among all strikers that have played for Galatasaray,” Özbek stated, as reported by Habersarikirmizi.

He further noted the striker’s impressive work ethic, saying, “We admire Osimhen even when we watch him in training. He performs as if he is in a match even there. We are afraid he might get injured.”

Osimhen has continued to shine for Galatasaray this season, having been instrumental in their previous title win and helping the club qualify for the Round of 16 in this season’s UEFA Champions League, where they are set to face Liverpool.
