Hon. Muhammad Sanni Gambo has formally assumed office as Kogi State chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
This development followed a ruling by the Federal High Court, Lokoja.
In the judgement delivered on November 10, 2025 (Suit No. FRC/LKJ/CS/39/2024), the Federal High Court declared Hon. Gambo the duly elected PDP Chairman after a contested congress and series of legal battles.
Following the receipt of the Certified True Copy of the judgment, Hon. Gambo was welcomed by a massive crowd of supporters, security agencies (Police, Civil Defence, DSS) and party leaders amidst cheers.
In his maiden speech, the chairman affirmed Kogi as a “PDP state” and called for the unity of members, to enable the party win the 2027 elections.
He described his victory as a collective triumph for Kogi PDP, thanking elders, Sen. Natasha Akpoti Udaughan (Kogi Central), and the judiciary for standing as “the last hope of the common man.”
He pledged to reposition the party, recover lost ground, and bring back defectors from APC and other parties.
Gambo also highlighted a “blueprint” to transform the PDP into the unbeatable force in Kogi, promising an open‑door policy, inclusivity, and relentless pursuit of development. He urged aggrieved members to forgive past grievances and join the rebuilding effort.
