The executive chairman of the council, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, who presented the bicycles to the beneficiaries yesterday, explained that the gesture was to enhance the group’s outreach activities.

Represented by his deputy, Ahmed S. Ahmed, he commended the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) for its numerous interventions, which have significantly improved healthcare delivery in the area.

Idris further noted that the combined efforts of Mama2Mama groups, Village Community Mobilisers (VCM), and F4H have boosted immunisation acceptance and helped reduce the number of zero-dose children in Ganjuwa.

He reaffirmed the council’s commitment to prioritising healthcare, stressing that health is wealth.

While commissioning the bicycles for use, UNICEF Country Representative in Nigeria, Wafaa Saeed Abdullatif, applauded the local government for recognising and supporting the contributions of community health volunteers.

She expressed optimism that improved mobility will enable F4H members to resolve more cases of non-compliance, ultimately improving the health of women and children.

Abdullatif assured that UNICEF will sustain its interventions across various aspects of healthcare in the area, reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to strengthening family health services.
