The Co-chairman of Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, Mr Bill Gates and that of Dangote foundation, Alh. Aliko Dangote have commended Yobe State governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, for up-scaling Primary Health Care services across the state.

A statement issued by the director general Press Affairs and Media to the governor Mamman Mohammed said they made the commendation during a teleconference meeting of the end of year review of primary health care programmes in the State.

Mr Gate said the rating of Yobe as the most improved state in Routine Immunisation coverage was highly commendable.

He described Yobe as a state on the track of achieving the universal health care standard through improved Primary Health Care programmes, assuring continuous support for more progress.

Similarly, Aliko Dangote, the chairman Dangote Foundation, also commended the Yobe State for achieving the most improved position in Routine Immunisation.

He also commended the state for institutionalising the system and the maiden technical review towards improving performance.

Danote said the implementation of the technical committee’s report would sustain the successes recorded in the state.

Meanwhile, WHO, Unicef and other development partners who participated in the teleconference have assured their support to the state.

Governor Buni while speaking his administration would continue to support primary health care programmes for more success.

“We are also about to float the Yobe State Emergency Medical Ambulance Service, and an executive bill in that regard has already been transmitted to the State House of Assembly and is currently at an advanced stage of legislative action.
