In commemoration of the International Human Rights Day, Hauwa Atiku-Uwais Foundation has commended all women and girls around the world for their active participation in the 16 days of activism against Gender based violence.
The Foundation said the theme “Orange the world: End Violence against Women” could not have come at a better time than now as there is great surge in cases of abuse and violence against women.
In a press statement signed by the Founder/CEO of the Foundation, Hauwa Atiku Uwais said regardless of culture, education, social status, religion; there is no gain saying as every one has the right to life.
She empathised with all women and female children who have been victims of abuse and violence; together we shall overcome.
“We encourage all who are victims that the way out is to “speak out”; this is the first step towards healing.
“You can be rest assured that our doors will always be open and our ears to attend to all.
Hauwa further said, “Let’s all bear in mind that as fathers, husbands, brothers, religious leaders and leaders in all spheres of life; its our duty to protect the sanctity of womanhood as I believe that “together we Can.”
