German club VfB Stuttgart are reportedly set to offer unsettled Ajax forward Chuba Akpom a chance to redeem himself and reignite his career.
Die Roten have long been admirers of the Super Eagles hopeful and were strongly linked with him in January. However, the move ultimately collapsed due to Ajax’s decision to retain Akpom for the second half of the season.
In 31 appearances for Ajax across the Eredivisie and UEFA Europa League, he registered 14 goals and three assists. Despite these contributions, some sections of the club’s fanbase have questioned whether he is truly deserving of wearing the club’s iconic red and white colours.
Late last month, Ajax deemed Akpom surplus to requirements, listing him among seven players set to depart the club.
