The director general of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman, has urged the leadership of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) to get involved in political leadership recruitment process in Kwara State.
He noted that it’s high time the umbrella body for all socio- cultural groups in Ilorin Emirate stopped sitting on the fence “on matters concerning who gets what, when and how in Kwara State.”
Sulaiman gave the charge when the executives of the IEDPU in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja led by their chairman, Alh Lukman Atanda visited him in Abuja.
He noted the reluctance of the elite union in ventilating its positions on the leadership recruitment process in Kwara State.
Sulaiman thanked the leadership of the union at all level for their interest in the socio- economic development of Ilorin Emirate and for fostering unity amongst the descendants of the Emirate.
Earlier, the chairman of IEDPU, FCT branch, Alh Lukman Atanda, had congratulated Prof. Sulaiman on his 60th birthday.
He described Sulaiman as a proud and worthy ambassador of Ilorin ,Kwara and a great Nigerian.
