Ghana Institute Honours NSCDC Boss With Meritorious Award Of Excellence

The Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Abubakar Ahmed Audi, has received a meritorious award for excellent service.

Dr. Audi was honoured with the Leadership Performance Meritorious Award by a Ghana-based Professorial Institute in appreciation of his exemplary leadership style laced with passion and unwavering determination. According to the Institute, this has repositioned the corps as a world-class elite organisation.

The award was presented to the Civil Defence boss at the corps national headquarters in Abuja yesterday. The president of the Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics, Ghana, who was represented by the vice president, Dr. Tom Ohikere, stated that the award was well deserved on behalf of the Governing Council.

According to him, the prestigious institute’s decision is in recognition of the sterling and remarkable performance of Dr .Audi in his stewardship and enviable leadership ethos as the commandant-general.

According to the institute, Dr. Ahmed Audi was chosen after a thorough background check of his personality and achievements, as well as observing with keen admiration his exceptional and outstanding performance as the CG, particularly since his assumption of office.
Dr Tom further buttressed that the institute can diligently justify that the cap fits him.

“Notably, the Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics has its headquarters in Ghana with liaison offices in Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Kenya and Nigeria. It is professionally structured to enhance the mechanism of corporate governance with a view of developing and producing potential leaders from Public and Private Economic Sector”.

Responding to what he described as unprecedented honour , Dr Audi thanked the Governing Council and the institute at large for finding him worthy of the recognition. He pledged to continue to work assiduously to project the corps for better performance and efficiency.

He said, “This is a defining moment for me and the entire NSCDC as an organisation. Be assured that this meritorious award will serve as a catalyst that will spur and motivate us to do more. My vision is to ensure that by the time we leave; the NSCDC would

have become a global reference and world-class paramilitary agency signposted with professionalism, regimentation and effective service delivery to the nation “.

In his remarks, Dr Yinka Olateju who superintends the Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics in Nigeria , extolled the unbiased commitment of the NSCDC boss in fighting economic saboteurs ravaging the oil, agric, mining and other critical sectors since he assumed office..
