A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Chief Ayirimi Emami, has condemned the killing of Emiko Onuwaje in Warri South-West local government area.
He hurged the security agencies to go after the killers.
In a statement he issued yesterday after a condolence visit to the deceased’s family, the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom called on security agencies to fish out Onuwaje’s killers.
Emami said it was regrettable that brothers would resort to inhumane actions because of little differences.
He charged the Ugborodo Indigenes to close ranks and chase away criminal elements from the community, saying people with criminal tendencies would not derail the task of fast-tracking the development of the Ugborodo Federated Communities.
He said: “I urge our people to remain calm and allow the Police and other law enforcement agencies to get to the root of the killing of this innocent man and ultimately, fish out the culprits.
“It will not be in our interest to instigate a crisis that will lead to the total breakdown of law and order. It will not bring back the dead. Our cry is for justice for the dead and the bereaved family.
“At this time, when the government is trying to bring development to our community, we should not indulge in actions that will undermine the government’s efforts.”
