Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Nasarawa Ward, Gombe State, Alhasan Ibrahim, has dismissed as false and misleading reports that his office recently suspended or expelled some party members.
The ward chairman called on ADC loyalists in Gombe and beyond to remain united and focused on building a stronger party ahead of future political engagements.
In a statement made available to journalists yesterday, in Abuja, Ibrahim clarified that neither his office nor the ward executive has issued any suspension or expulsion letters to members of the ADC.
He maintained that the allegations were calculated to destabilise the party and discredit its acting national chairman, Hon. Nafiu Bala.
He said: “I, Alhasan Ibrahim, Nasarawo Ward Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). I want to address specific malicious claims circulating about my office. I wish to set the record straight.
“I have not issued any suspension or expulsion letter to any member in my constituency. No formal complaints have been received alleging anti-party activities in my ward warranting disciplinary measures.
“The claims made by Auwal A Barde, a former member who was expelled from the party a few years ago, are baseless and a gross misrepresentation of facts.
“As your ward chairman, I want to assure the public, particularly our loyal members, that my office is committed to upholding the principles of fairness, transparency, and due process.
“These false allegations are an attempt to destabilise our great party and tarnish the reputation of our acting National Chairman, Honourable Nafiu Bala.
“I urge the public to disregard these false claims and remain steadfast and confident in our party‘s leadership and vision. Let‘s continue to work together to build a stronger African Democratic Congress (ADC).”
