Gombe Gov Appoints 19 Permanent Secretaries 

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has approved the appointment of 19 Permanent Secretaries to fill vacancies and strengthen administrative capacity across the state civil service.

The Head of Civil Service, Prof. Mu’azu Shehu, who announced the appointments on Monday, said the move followed a shortage of Permanent Secretaries and the recent creation and restructuring of ministries by the state government.

He said the appointments would provide the affected ministries with competent administrative leadership and enhance their capacity to deliver on their mandates.

According to him, the new Permanent Secretaries were selected from 11 local government areas, with consideration given to geographical spread, professional experience, competence and the specific requirements of the ministries.

Shehu added that the officers had been carefully assessed and were recommended based on their performance, relevant experience, professionalism and clean service records.

The new Permanent Secretaries are Haruna Mohammed Danburam and Mohammed Auwal Ahmed (Akko); Alheri Yoriyo and Haruna Bello Gelengu (Balanga); Ruth Caleb Maina (Billiri); Auwal Abduljalal and Kasimu Umar (Dukku); Musa Muhammad Babaji and Adamu Audi from Funakaye.

Dr Hadi Mohammed and Ali Yaya Ahmed (Gombe); Kabiru Mohammed Mahdi (Kwami); Balarabe Musa and Tabitha B. James (Kaltungo); Haruna Dadum Hamza and Ibrahim Mohammed Gombe (Nafada); Tahir Adamu Sadiq (Shongom); and Shuai’bu Chiroma Muhammad and Musa Idi Batari (Yamaltu-Deba).

The Head of Service said the appointments take immediate effect.
