Gombe State governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, attended the International Youth Fellowship Conference of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), at Kaltungo.

The governor announced a donation of N10 million to support the ECWA programme and also launched a gospel musical album with an undisclosed amount of money and ordered distribution of copies to all attendees.

The triennial conference tagged ‘Kaltungo 2023’ with the theme ‘Occupy Till I Come’, was well attended by youths of ECWA church across the 36 states of Nigeria, Republic of Benin, Chad and Cameroon.

While commending the organisers for bringing the event to Gombe State, Governor Yahaya described the theme as apt and in tandem with all the ongoing developmental programmes in the state geared towards making lives better for the citizens, especially the youths.

He noted that the event underscores the peace and unity existing in Gombe which has earned the state the status of the safest state in the Northeast.

“Gombe State is not just a peaceful state; we also take care of all diversities of issues. You can see that I am a Muslim; the deputy governor is a Christian. We have an Igbo man as a member of the state cabinet and a Yoruba man as chairman of Gombe State Sports Commission. We just swore in a female Chief Judge for Gombe State today and here with me is also a female member of the House of Assembly. The interest of everybody is well protected in this state,” he said.

The governor also praised the leadership of ECWA for the leading roles they have played in education development and healthcare services.

He also used the occasion to talk on some of the giant strides of his administration and the achievements recorded, saying so far in Kaltungo LGA alone and Gombe South in general, his government has executed numerous projects in education, health, road infrastructure, among others.

He solicited the prayers of ECWA for the progress and development of Gombe State and the peaceful conduct of the forthcoming elections.

The guest speaker, Rev (Dr) Isaac Laudarji, admonished the youths to get involved in all fields of human endeavours stressing that they should not limit themselves to white collar jobs but look into agriculture, education, transportation, engineering and politics, among others.
