Gombe State governor, Inuwa Yahaya, has donated the sum of N10 million to the families of those who lost their lives during the Easter procession accident that occurred in Billiri local government area of the state.

LEADERSHIP recalls that a truck driver ran into a crowd of Christians staging procession on Easter Monday where five persons were killed and many others sustained injuries.

The governor announced the donation on Wednesday when he paid a condolence visit to Billiri local government area to commiserate with the people and families of the victims.

Speaking at the palace of Mai Tangele (Emir of Billiri), Danladi Sanusi Maiyamba, he described the incident as deeply saddening and prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and speedy recovery for the injured.

Governor Inuwa then announced a donation of N2 million each to the five bereaved families, bringing the total donation to N10 million.
