Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State yesterday hosted stakeholders in the state in a consultative meeting for the 2025 budget preparation as part of efforts to carry the citizens along in budget planning.

Declaring the meeting open at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, the governor explained that his administration prioritises transparency and accountability, hence the engagement of citizens in the budget preparation to have their inputs captured.

He emphasised the importance of citizens’ participation in governance, stating that giving the electorate a voice in the budgeting process will foster transparency and accountability.

The governor highlighted the successes of the 2024 budget, which included completing 48 out of 71 citizens’ nominated projects, representing 67.61 per cent of the total.

He noted that the projects covered areas such as infrastructure development, education, healthcare and agriculture.
