Gombe State governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has expressed sorrow over the death of Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, mother of former Kaduna State governor, Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai, describing her as a woman who lived a life defined by humility, compassion and strong moral values.
Governor Yahaya, who attended her funeral prayer at the National Mosque in Abuja alongside dignitaries, family members and other mourners, said the loss of a mother is profound and irreplaceable, leaving an enduring void in the hearts of children and loved ones.
In a statement by his spokesman, Ismaila Uba Misilli, the governor, who also chairs the Northern States Governors’ Forum, commiserated with Malam Nasir El-Rufai and the entire family, paying tribute to the late matriarch for nurturing a family grounded in discipline, service and good character.
The governor, on behalf of the people of Gombe State, as well as the Northern States Governors’ Forum, extended condolences to the bereaved family, urging them to take solace in the exemplary life she lived and the enduring legacy she left behind.
Governor Yahaya prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings, reward her good deeds and grant her Aljannat Firdaus.
