Contrary to speculations making the rounds, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has reaffirmed his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), denying rumour of his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Adeleke reassured his supporters and admirers that he remains a member of the PDP and the leader of the party in the state.
The Governor, who restated his preoccupation with the implementation of the administration’s five point agenda, urged people of the state to ignore fake news, promising more delivery of good governance and democratic dividends.
Meanwhile, ruling party in Osun State has also debunked the purported imminent dumping of the PDP by Governor Adeleke or the political structures of the party to the APC.
PDP state chairman, Hon Sunday Bisi stated that the rumour was clearly orchestrated by jittery elements within the opposition, describing the reported as a desperate attempt to distract the people of Osun State from the ongoing transformation being championed by Adeleke.
“We understand the tension and anxiety these rumours have generated among our teeming members, supporters and stakeholders. Let it be firmly stated that the PDP remains intact, cohesive, and more committed than ever to the renewed mission of rescuing and rebuilding Osun State.
“Those peddling the lie of decamping are merely rejected politicians and agents of retrogression, who are terrified by the growing popularity and performance of Governor Adeleke, despite their continued attempts to derail the people-centered progress being made.
“Let it also be known that the PDP administration, in line with its open-door policy, remains transparent and inclusive. The good people of Osun will continue to be carried along in all political and governance processes,” Hon. Bisi assured.
The Chairman urged citizens of Osun State to dismiss the rumour, and continue their support for the administration of Governor Adeleke in his determination to deliver good and responsive governance in the state.
