Gov Alia Appoints Governing Councils For Tertiary Institutions

Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has appointed Engr. Akwonya Comfort Adadu, as the director-general of the Benue State Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).

The governor also appointed governing councils for the state-owned tertiary education institutions.

In a statement issued by the chief press secretary to the governor, Tersoo, he named Sir Paul Chukwuma as chairman/pro-chancellor of the Benue State University, Dr. Demian Anyam as chairman of Benue State Polytechnic, Ogbokolo, Prof. George-Genyi, College of Education, Oju, Prof. Uketor Gabriel Moti as chairman of the College of Education, Katsina-Ala, and Prof. Okpe O. Okpe as chairman of Akawe Torkula Polytechnic, Makurdi.

Other appointees are Dr Victoria Pila, chairman of Akperan Orshi Polytechnic, Yandev, and Dr Bem Vangerwua, chairman of the College of Health Technology, Agasha.

Kula said the governor believes the appointees, who were selected based on their records of service and wealth of experience, will be able to deliver and make the tertiary institutions top-notch.
