Gov Buni Approves New Minimum Wage Structure For Yobe Workers

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has approved the implementation of the new minimum wage for workers in the state.

LEADERSHIP gathered that with the new wage structure, school teachers and primary healthcare workers will receive an increment of ₦25,000, to raise their minimum wage from ₦20,000 to ₦45,000.

Regular workers on GL01-06 will receive an additional ₦10,000 to bring their new minimum wage to ₦30,000.

Regular staff on GL 07-14 will receive a substantial increase of ₦25,000, setting their minimum wage at ₦45,000.

However, the workers on GL 15 with one domestic staff will earn ₦35,000, alongside an additional ₦10,000 for their domestic staff, raising their new minimum wage to ₦65,000.

Accordingly, workers on GL 16 with two domestic staff will see their wage increase to ₦45,000, with an additional ₦20,000 for the domestic staff, culminating in a total of ₦85,000.

All local government pensioners will receive an increment of ₦10,000, in acknowledging their contributions to the state’s progress.

The approval has been commended for prioritising the welfare of workers at the grassroots and retirees, reflecting his unwavering dedication to inclusive governance.
