Governor of Bauchi State Bala Mohammed has decried the absence of electricity and other essential amenities at the Bagel Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) in Dass local government area.
The governor, who made an unannounced visit to assess the quality of healthcare delivery in the rural facility, expressed disappointment over the centre’s poor condition, particularly its lack of a power supply, a key element for effective healthcare service delivery.
“This is unacceptable,” Governor Mohammed said after touring the facility. “We cannot talk about quality healthcare when there is no electricity to power even the most basic medical equipment.”
Despite the glaring challenges, the governor maintained a hopeful tone, assuring residents that his administration remains committed to revitalising the healthcare system across the state.
He immediately directed the chairman of Dass local government and the chairman of the State Primary Healthcare Board to swiftly address the issues at the facility.
Governor Mohammed’s visit signals a renewed push by the state government to strengthen rural healthcare infrastructure and ensure accessible, quality medical services for all.
