Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno has boosted the morale of teachers in the public schools system with the disbursement of wardrobe allowance to the tune of N1.2 billion, it was learnt yesterday.
The governor had on May 17, 2024, during the inauguration of the reconstructed Christ the King School (CKS) and Ewet Offot Model Schools in Uyo, promised to pay a one-off wardrobe allowance to all public primary and secondary school teachers in the state.

“Teachers, students, and pupils across all public primary, secondary, and technical schools are deeply encouraged by the benevolence of the governor,” they stressed.
The teachers also lauded the governor “for the provision of ARISE customised exercise books, payment of backlogs of outstanding leave grants to primary school teachers, payment of the “N20,000 civil service bonus to all civil servants, payment of N50,000 to all teachers as a wardrobe allowance, and the prompt payment of subventions, among other achievements.”
