The Historical Society of Nigeria (HSN) has presented a Lifetime of Distinguished Service to the Historical Society of Nigeria Award to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Governor of Adamawa State.
The prestigious honour was conferred on the governor in recognition of his remarkable contributions to education, cultural preservation, and his support for historical research and scholarship in Nigeria.
The presentation took place at the Governor’s Office in Yola on October 16, 2025, as part of activities marking the Society’s event and the 6th Congress of the Association of African Historians.
Governor Fintiri expressed his appreciation to the Society for the recognition and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting history and academic excellence in Adamawa State and beyond.
