Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri has constituted a 20-man palliative distribution committee headed by Barrister Awwal Tukur, Secretary to the State Government, while Commanders of Army and Airforce in the state are to serve as members.
The committee, which is to handle the distribution of grains and foodstuff to the people of the state includes organisations, agencies, groups and individuals who are to oversee the collection of the palliatives.
Dr Mohammad Suleiman, Executive Secretary Adamawa State Management Agency (ADSEMA) is to serve as secretary.
Chief press secretary to the governor, Humwashi Wonosikou said the palliatives are aimed at cushioning the effects of fuel subsidy removal on the people in the state.
Monarchs that made up the committee include HRH Amna Shelleng, HRM Hama Bachama, members of the National Assembly and State Assembly.
Others are commissioner for Rehabilitation, Rebuilding and Reintegration, Hamman Bello Diram, state Head of Service, Isa Shehu as member, Chairman ALGON.
Also on the list are Army and Airforce commanders, commissioner of police, director DSS, commandant Civil Defence Corps, representatives of CAN, Muslim Council, NUJ, NLC, TUC and NCWS.
The committee is to be inaugurated on Thursday at the Conference Hall, Government House, Yola.
