Gov Kefas Approves Free Medical Check-up For Taraba Traditional Rulers

Taraba State governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has approved free medical check-up for traditional rulers in the State in any hospital of their choice.

The Permanent Secretary, Bureau for Local Government, Traditional and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Babangida Hassan, announced this in his office while addressing some of the traditional rulers over the development.

“Am happy to inform all traditional rulers in the state of the gracious approval of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for all the Chiefs in the State to embark on medical check-up to various hospitals of their choices.

“The categories of the affected Traditional Rulers are 1st Class, 2nd Class and 3rd Class Chiefs.

“Permit me to state that this is the first of its kind since the creation of the State in 1991, I therefore urge traditional rulers to take advantage of this opportunity to conduct thorough diagnosis of their bodies for their well-being in order to justify the resources given and reciprocate the good gesture of the governor.”

Hassan further stated that traditional rulers must recognise their roles by assisting the Government in the areas of maintenance of peace, security and harmonious coexistence.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Digital Communication, Emmanuel Bello, who also attended the meeting, noted that the governor places high premium on the welfare of the royal fathers to enable them concentrate on mitigation of conflicts in their domains.

The Aku Uka of Wukari and chairman, Taraba State Traditional Rulers, Manu Ada Ali, commended Governor Kefas for the gesture to the traditional rulers.

Ada, who was represented by Alhaji Baba Chiruma, the Emir of Old Muri, pledged the commitment of the traditional rulers in the state to maintenance of peace in their domains to foster development.
