Taraba State governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening boundary security through sustained collaboration with neighbouring states to safeguard life and property of the people.
Governor Kefas made the pledge at a get-together organised by elder statesman, General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (rtd) for his staff in Takum.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the state commissioner for Information and Re-Orientation, Barr. Zanaib Usman Jalingo.
The governor, in the statement, said improved security on boundary communities remains a top priority of his administration.
He said enhanced cooperation with adjoining states would further help to curb cross-border threats and consolidate peace across the region.
He expressed satisfaction with the prevailing peace in Takum, stating that normalcy has returned to the area after years of tension.
“Life and love have returned to Takum, and we are determined to sustain this peace through deliberate and coordinated security efforts,” he said.
The event drew dignitaries from within and outside Taraba State to reflect on the influence and reach of the former Defence Minister.
Governor Kefas paid glowing tribute to Gen. Danjuma, commending his enduring contributions to the development of Taraba State and Nigeria at large, particularly through his investments and humanitarian interventions.
The governor described Danjuma as a pillar of support and a symbol of patriotism whose legacy continues to impact lives across communities.
