Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has flagged off the renovation and rehabilitation of 728 government-owned schools across the state’s three senatorial districts under the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project.
Represented by his deputy, Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo, the governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transforming the education sector through sustained investment in infrastructure and learning conditions.
Describing the initiative as more than a ceremonial exercise, Ododo said it reflected a deliberate effort to secure the future of the state through quality education.
“Today’s event is not merely ceremonial; it is a clear demonstration of this administration’s resolve to invest in the future of our state through education,” he said.
He emphasised that meaningful development is anchored on a strong and functional education system, supported by safe, inclusive, and conducive learning environments.
According to him, many public schools across the state have served communities for decades and now require urgent upgrades to meet modern educational standards.
The state’s project coordinator described the initiative as a strategic investment in the future of Kogi’s children and the overall prosperity of the state.
