Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has sympathised with the victims of a recent rainstorm in Okehi local government area and promised to support them to recover from the disaster.
Ododo, who was represented by his deputy, Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu, during an spot assessment visit to the area, restated the commitment of the government to provide succour for the victims.
He assured the people of Okehi and the state that his administration remained committed to providing succour to the victims in a timely manner.
Earlier, the chairman of Okehi LGA, Hon Monday Amoka Eneji, expressed appreciation to the governor for the visit and highlighted the impact of the rainstorm, which affected over 100 houses.
He pleaded with the state government and other agencies in disaster management for immediate intervention to alleviate the victims’ plight.
In his remarks, Barr Ozigi Momodu Deedat, commended the government over its proactive measures, emphasising the commitment of the administration to prioritising the needs of the people.
The governor was hosted at the palace of the Ohi of Ihima, Alhaji Ahmed Ogido Abdulraheem, with other community leaders and government officials in attendance.
