Katsina State governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has reinforced his administration’s commitment to effective governance with the appointment of a new chief of staff and other key officials across strategic positions.
The appointments, contained in a statement issued by his chief press secretary, Ibrahim Kaula, dated December 12, 2024, are aimed at strengthening the implementation of the administration’s “Building Your Future” agenda.
Among the notable appointments is Hon. AbdulKadir Mamman Nasir, who now serves as the Chief of Staff. Nasir, a former House of Representatives member, is an experienced administrator with a Postgraduate Diploma from Bayero University, Kano.
Until his new role, he was the managing director of the Katsina State Irrigation Development Authority. Nasir replaces Hon. Jabiru Abdullahi Tsauri, who has been appointed as the National Coordinator for the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD).
The governor also announced the nomination of Alhaji Malik Anas as Commissioner, pending confirmation by the State House of Assembly. Anas, a former Katsina State Accountant General with an MBA from Bayero University, brings years of financial expertise to the administration’s leadership.
Additionally, Alhaji Mustapha Bala Batsari has been appointed Special Adviser on Market Development. Known for his administrative acumen, Bala previously chaired the State Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA).
Similarly, Alhaji Nasiru Ahmed, a computer science graduate, has been named Special Adviser on Rural and Social Development, leveraging his prior experience as a Special Assistant on Political Matters in the Funtua Zone.
In the finance sector, Hajiya Bilikisu Suleiman has been appointed Special Adviser on Banking and Finance. Formerly the executive secretary of the Katsina State Development Management Board, she is expected to bring professionalism and inclusivity to the administration.
The governor also entrusted Hon. Abubakar Ahmad Tsanni with the role of Special Adviser on Youth Development. With a Master’s degree in Conflict, Peace, and Strategic Studies, Tsanni will focus on empowering the youth and fostering social development.
Other appointments include Dr. Mustapha Shehu as Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Development Management Board, Engr. Aminu Barau Mairuwa as Senior Special Assistant on Community Development, and Dr. Aliyu Rabi’u Kurfi as General Manager of the Katsina State Housing Authority.
Dr. Kabir Ali Masanawa has been named Executive Director of the Katsina State History and Culture Bureau, while Zuwaira Ibrahim Boyi has taken over as Executive Director of Investment and Tourism at the Katsina State Development Management Board.
Additionally, Alhaji Abdullahi Abubakar Gagare, a seasoned chartered accountant, has been nominated as Chairman of the Katsina State Fiscal Responsibility Commission, subject to legislative approval.
Governor Radda charged the appointees with the responsibility of delivering results that align with the administration’s vision for progress. He emphasized the need for dedication and professionalism to drive impactful governance and development across the state.
“This team reflects our administration’s commitment to competent and inclusive governance. I have full confidence in their ability to deliver tangible benefits for the people of Katsina State,” the governor remarked.
The appointments are seen as a strategic move to inject expertise and fresh perspectives into key areas of governance, reaffirming the administration’s resolve to build a prosperous future for the state.
