Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has reaffirmed that his administration’s notable achievements are rooted in long-term strategic planning.
He revealed this following his emergence as the 2024 Blueprint Governor of the Year on Security and Good Governance.
Governor Radda, however, received the official letter of nomination from the newspaper’s management ahead of the grand award ceremony scheduled for July 22, 2025.
He said, “This award is a humbling recognition of our commitment to improving lives in Katsina State. On behalf of myself and the good people of the state, I thank you for deeming me worthy. It’s not something I take lightly, I will cherish it deeply.”
The governor further stressed that the award reflects independent and unbiased judgment, noting that he deliberately distanced himself from the process.
“This recognition is based on your findings, giving it real weight and credibility,” he added. Governor Radda highlighted that the administration’s success was the product of preparation and vision.
“People often say that failure to plan is planning to fail. That’s why we prepared a blueprint two years before we assumed office. Since then, we’ve been following it closely. That is what helped us hit the ground running and achieve the kind of impact we’ve seen so far.”
He noted that the award would further energize his administration to stay focused and results-driven.
He also welcomed partnerships with credible media organizations like Blueprint in promoting accountability and sustainable development.
Earlier, the managing director of Blueprint, Malam Salisu Umar led a delegation of senior editors to present the nomination letter.
He praised Governor Radda’s efforts to restore security, empower citizens through agriculture and education, and improve infrastructure.
