Governor of Katsina State Dikko Umaru Radda has expressed profound grief over the death of the chairman of Bakori local government area, Hon. Aminu Dan Hamidu, who passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025.
In an official statement issued from the Government House in Katsina signed by the governor’s chief press secretary, Ibrahim Kaula, the governor described the late chairman as a humble, honest, and dedicated public servant who exemplified people-centred leadership and commitment to grassroots development.
“Today, Katsina has lost one of its most committed and selfless sons,” Governor Radda stated. “Hon. Hamidu was a quiet achiever who believed in the values of integrity, transparency, and people-first leadership. His death is a painful loss not only to Bakori but to the entire state.”
Hon. Hamidu was elected in the February 2025 local government elections and assumed office in April. Despite his short tenure, the governor said Hamidu left behind a record of purpose-driven leadership and sincere commitment to his people.
“He was not someone who sought the spotlight. He let his work speak for him,” Governor Radda noted, emphasising Hamidu’s enduring dedication to service throughout his career in government and politics.
The governor offered heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s family, the people of Bakori, and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Katsina State.
“May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdausi,” the governor prayed. “We will continue to remember him for his modesty, his dedication, and the love he had for his people,” he added.
