Katsina State governor, Malam Dikko Radda, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Bebeji of Katsina and district head of Kusada, Alhaji Nuhu Yashe, who passed away on Thursday evening at the age of 92 following a brief illness.

In a condolence message by his chief press secretary, Ibrahim Mohammed, Governor Radda described the late Yashe as a revered traditional leader whose life embodied humility, discipline and unwavering dedication to public service.

“Alhaji Nuhu Yashe was more than a traditional leader; he was a man of peace, integrity, and deep understanding.  His contributions to governance and community service will remain unforgettable.

“He lived a life grounded in fairness, discipline, and a sincere commitment to the progress of his people,” he said.

Governor Radda reflected on the remarkable public career of the late Alhaji Yashe, which began in the 1950s in the Native Authority Service.

Rising through the ranks, he became the head of service of the old Katsina Native Authority in 1975 before later assuming the role of district head of Kusada.

The governor noted that the late icon represented a generation of public servants known for sincerity, truthfulness and a strong sense of moral responsibility.

“He represented the best traditions of public service: simplicity, loyalty and devotion to duty. His guidance carried weight, shaped by experience, culture and a deep understanding of administration. His legacy of honesty and discipline will continue to inspire many within and beyond Katsina State,” Governor Radda added

The governor extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the government and people of Katsina State to the Emir of Katsina, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, the Yashe family, the people of Kusada, and all who drew wisdom from the deceased’s leadership.

Governor Radda prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the late leader’s shortcomings, expand his grave, and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus, while also seeking divine comfort and strength for his family and community during this period of grief.
